HANDLE WITH CARE:

All jewellery is fragile and needs to be handled with care.

• jewellery should not be worn to bed
  

• avoid exposure to water and moisture - this includes bathing, showering, swimming, and excessive perspiration
  

• avoid contact with hairspray, perfume and lotions as they can damage your jewellery and make it more difficult to clean
  

• avoid activities that may cause your jewellery to become scratched (housework, sports, physical activities)
  

• keep your jewellery away from extreme heat (including strong sunlight)
  

• store your jewellery separately so that your pieces do not rub against each other (this will prevent scratches and excessive wear)
  

• lay your jewellery flat or hang from a hook to maintain it's shape
  

CLEANING TIPS:

All jewellery will become dull and dirty over time simply from your natural body oils and perspiration.  There are several ways to keep your jewellery clean and sparkling:

• wipe it gently with a soft damp cloth before you put it away
  

• clean it with a mild soap and warm water, absorb the excess water with a towel before laying it to dry thoroughly (20-30 minutes) - only do this occasionally when your piece is really dirty
  

• jewellery cleaners can be used occasionally but read the directions carefully to be sure the product is safe for the materials used in your jewellery (for sterling silver we recommend Hagerty's)
  

• a polishing cloth can be extremely effective in removing dirt, oils and tarnish (available for purchase below)
  

STERLING SILVER:

The above guidelines also apply to sterling silver but keep in mind that silver pieces need some special care.  All silver will tarnish over time so to keep this to a minimum, it is important to store these pieces in a jewellery box or plastic container.  The best way to clean tanished silver is by rubbing gently with a polishing cloth (available for purchase below).  Other commercial cleaners are available but please read the labels carefully to be sure they are safe for the materials your jewellery is made from (Hagerty's is great for sterling silver).

SAFETY:

Although some of our pieces are made for children, NEVER leave a young child unattended when wearing jewellery as they may break it and this could be a choking hazard.
